Canon HV20 / HR10, Sanyo HD2 / HD1, JVC HD7, Sony HandyCam DCR-SR42E, SR62E, SR82E, SR200E and SR300, Panasonic HDC DX1 / SD1 and even cheap (under $300) Aiptek GO-HD...Maybe it is better to save money because even normal video is not bad at all, especially MiniDV format...There are many AVCHD camcorders such as Sony DCR SR42, SR200, SR300 and Panasonic HDC-SD1...

I also bought a Sandisk Extreme FireWire Reader from Amazon to capture to my Mac...FCP+ Panasonic HDC-SD1+ iPod is a gift for what it does...I was looking at the Red camera video on Apples site (superb and out of my budget for now), when I saw that as they were selecting the RED capture setting, it went by an H263 & H264 setting...I am deciding if I should buy the Panasonic...

just wondering if anyone has a vh04 battery pack for the sd1 etc...japan for about 90 bucks, wish I could read japanese, the sd1-sd3...done, I am sure they won't in their gotchya to bad pal arrogance...however, I find the well lit indoor scenes, nearly as good...

Memory cards are the future for camcorders...So I traveled with the Panasonic HDC-SD1 high-def camcorder, which records AVCHD video at 1440x1080 resolution, along with Dolby Digital AC3 5.1 channel audio (yes, there are 5 mics on the top of the unit...What these software tools really need to provide is photo-like browsing views to help you organize and group the clips...
