I've been wanting an HV30 for a long time for the outstanding video quality, but now I have a chance to get a Canon Vizia HF100 from TigerDirect for $599...I mostly use it for stuff close to home where recording time isn't a problem, but I am going ona vacation soon when I may want to take a lot of video...The recording media isn't the only main difference between HF100...

If out and out performance doesn't matter for you, then you'll probably be happy with the HF100...It's just that, presently, the internet populace is extremely tolerant of crappy quality video...it would seem that something like an HD, HF100 would blow that away...
