"Relatively inexpensive 7.1 AV receiver; three HDMI inputs; three component video inputs; automatic speaker calibration; Sirius-ready....Subpar sound; no onscreen display; no onboard decoding for Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio....It's not a bad clicker, but it has a cluttered look and important buttons like the volume rocker aren't as large as we'd like...But since we usually have to reset the sub volume after autosetup anyway, we really didn't mind that..." read more »

"If you've been looking for receivers in this price range you know there isn't a huge variety so with that in mind I would recommend this receiver over any other similar priced model with the Onkyo being the exception...For the money you can't go wrong, everything I play sounds very good and there is no distortion even when turningthe volume up considerably loud...If you are on the fence about this, do what i did, buy it and try it out and if you don't think it is worth the price you can always return it, that's the great thing about Amazon, no hassles!! Anyway, I highly recommend the Sony STR-DH100..." read more »

"The RX-V3800 is the latest and greatest "multimedia" receiver from Yamaha, but now that other companies have jumped upon the streaming bandwagon, how does it cope...The features list also continues from the RX-V2700's good work, with music streaming, iPod connectivity (with optional dock), and upscaling to 1080p...While this is good for Internet radio, which works well and provides a decent selection of stations by default, the streaming implementation is a bit arcane and still needs a running PC to stream from..." read more »

"The RX-V663 also offers the Silent Cinema feature, which provides a surround sound experience using any set of stereo headphones...Two disappointments, however, is that the RX-V663 does not include more HDMI inputs and video upscaling...With more source components, such as Upscaling DVD players, Blu-ray and/or HD-DVD players, and HD Cable and/or HD Satellite boxes including HDMI outputs, the need more than the two HDMI inputs provided on the RX-V663 may be a notable deficiency for some..." read more »

"With that in mind, Onkyo has released two new AV receivers, the TX-SR876 and TX-NR906, that put the focus on video thanks to built-in HQV-video processing chips...The major difference between the two receivers is the network functionality available on the TX-NR906...The TX-SR876, on the other hand, looks to offer an attractive feature set for high-end receiver buyers...One feature that's curiously missing from these high-end receivers is a high-definition, graphical, user interface, as seen on receivers from Sony and Denon..." read more »
