Here are some quick tips when buying TV:
- Rear projection TVs offer more viewing area for the buck but picture quality is not quite as good as Plasma or LCD TVs.
- Plasmas have deeper blacks and warmer colors but suffer from glare.
- LCDs are crisper, brighter, and weigh less than Plasma TVs.
- You will want to sit about 4 feet away from a 27 display and 7 feet away from a 50 display.
- If you want High Definition, then get at least 1080i thats the current HD programming coming in over the air or cable.
- If you plan on getting an HD DVD or a Blu-ray DVD player, then get 1080p.
- Better (higher) contrast ratios mean blacker blacks and whiter whites although many claims by vendors are inflated

User from newegg says: Maybe I just had a bad experience this time, but in the future I think I will pay the extra hundred bucks and buy larger items like this from a local brick and mortar store...Absolutely amazing tv and it makes a good pc monitor too...Sound is very good for built in speakers...see more

$1199.99- $1599.99
User from amazon says: Besides a nice looking frame, it's got an amazing picture quality, and a very good sound quality...The sound isn't bad for a big screen but, like any other, it is designed to be complimented by a surround sound...However if like me you plan to be watching a lot of old stuff into the indefinite future, I'd strongly recommend a smaller screen!!! I got this from my local warehouse for a great price...see more

User from newegg says: So it seemed a good idea to buy another Philips to replace the one in the bedroom...I took a chance with this new model but the specs, styling, and reviews were too good to pass up...The remote isn't bad, no backlight and has a cheap feel...see more

$1936.00- $1936.00
User from amazon says: Watching a HD movie on this is as good as it gets, and in my opinion, the quality beats other more expensive brands...Another nice feature is that the speakers are all in the back, so you don't see them, but they actually sound as good as if they were right there...Recommend for anyone who wants a nice movie experience at home, or enjoy playing Tennis with their Wii, and always complain that 42" "just isn't enough" :) I received the Philips 52" 120Hz LCD TV yesterday morning and I have to say I am very pleased with my purchase...see more
