"Most modern receivers offer five or more channels of amplification as well as surround sound decoding, but the Integra DTM-5.3 is a member of the vanishing species of stereo receivers...To be more accurate, the DTM-5.3 is a three-zone, two-source unit that can deliver simultaneous signals to as many as four rooms, with two speaker A and B outputs...The DTM-5.3 is rated at 100 watts per channel into 8 ohms, and 130 watts per channel into 6 ohms...For custom installations, the DTM-5.3 features an A-Bus port for distribution of audio via a CAT-5 cable...This makes the DTM-5.3 especially attractive to custom installers looking for a low-cost multiroom solution..." read more »

"The new model expands the features of its predecessor DTR-5.8 which was a best-selling device...DTR-5.9 has four HDMA v1.3a inputs that accept signals from Audio/Video sources such as 1080p digital video and Deep Color information...The device has DTS-HD Master Audio, Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby True HD decoding...The new device satisfies all the needs of custom installers, but individuals could also buy the product and do a little setup themselves gaining all the marvelous features the device offers..." read more »

"Finally, I think this is great receiver and I would recommend it or one of the newer Integra models to others...Good features, but some features i'd like to see carried over from the onkyo line are the variable crossover and the bass tone control at 50hz instead of 100hz...Overall great piece and a great buy..." read more »

"Clean finish of the front panel...If you have the chance to listen to different receivers, choose a good high quality set of speakers to listen to that you can compare with...At least it kept something similar to the equation, and the Studio's give both relatively high highs and good lows - though I'm sure not everyone would agree with me..." read more »

"The Integra DTR-8.3?a THX-certified AM/FM receiver with 7.1-channel surround sound?lives near the top end of the company's product line...So although it was originally intended to work in lockstep with the Integra NAS-2.3 (an 80GB digital jukebox, also reviewed here), the DTR-8.3's capability has been extended to reading MP3 and WMA files and tuning in Internet radio from your PC...When we began testing the DTR-8.3 at PC Labs, it couldn't find the companion NAS-2.3, even though they were 2 feet apart and on the same network segment...The home theater element of the DTR-8.3 is first-class..." read more »

"Integra DTR-8.4 A/V Receiver and Tannoy Arena Speaker System...This graph shows that the DTR-8.4's left channel, from CD input to speaker output with two channels driving 8-ohm loads, reaches 0.1% distortion at 63.9 watts and 1% distortion at 152.7 watts...Response from the multichannel input to the speaker output measures –0.20 dB at 10 Hz, –0.12 dB at 20 Hz, –0.02 dB at 20 kHz, and –0.30 dB at 50 kHz...From the Dolby Digital input to the loudspeaker output, the left channel measures –0.11 dB at 20 Hz and –0.04 dB at 20 kHz..." read more »

"Integra's DTR-9.1 A/V receiver has a sound battle plan, thanks to its potent mix of high-end tricks and approachability...however, considering that receiver sales account for maybe 10 to 15 percent of the overall home theater market, I don't think high-end-receiver manufacturers are too concerned...The flagship of that line is the DTR-9.1, a $3,200 job with just about every receiver trick you can imagine and maybe a few you can't...with good old two-channel music, based on my old-fashioned belief that—if a piece of audio equipment can get music right—there's a pretty good chance it will do most other things right, as well..." read more »
