"Yes, even the entry-level Denon AVR-590 come packed with a full suite of features...We consistently knock Denon for included confusing remotes with its receivers, and there looks to be no major changes this year..." read more »

"Very good image quality on upconverted analog video sources; four HDMI inputs; onboard Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio decoding; Sirius-ready; automatic...Relatively expensive; competing AV receivers sound better; no graphical user interface; annoying back-panel...Denon's latest midrange model, the AVR-1910, is a standout in this regard, offering up the best upconverted image quality out of all the receivers we've tested in 2009...Our disappointments were..." read more »
"•1080i/p scaling to HDMI of all inputs
•Colorful high-def GUI over HDMI
•Four full-function HDMI 1.3a inputs
•Extensive multiroom/zone options, including...•Poor remote-control ergonomics
•Some modest operational glitches/oddities...All that changes here with the 4308CI's new full-color, high-def, onscreen graphical user interface...Denon's AVR-4308CI impressed, with very good power results and virtually perfect noise and linearity performance...Sound..." read more »

"Equipped with an Ethernet port, the DBP-1610 features Blu-ray Profile 2.0 BD-Live web-enabled interactivity, as well as firmware upgrade capability...The DBP-1610 is able to handle a wide range of disc formats, including Blu-ray, DVD, DVD-R, DVD-RW, CD, CD-R and CD-RW discs, and features WMA, MP3 and DivxHD playback along with Kodak and Fuji picture disc playback capability for increased system flexibility...Players like the Denon 1610 struggle to stand out in regard to either performance or value, which is a dangerous proposition for the majority of us who are not brand-addicted...The 1610 (and the 2010 for that matter) are a bit late to the party and too expensive...With Denon DVD-2500BTCI's selling for under $300, I would be hard-pressed to recommend the 1610 for its current street price of $450..." read more »

"The Denon AVR-3808CI AV receiver is absolutely packed with functionality and sounds great, but you'll need to be an AV geek to unlock all its potential...A sane person might wonder why anyone would ever need a receiver more advanced than Denon's AVR-3808CI...The AVR-3808CI is a couple of models down from Denon's AVR-5308CI ($5,500) flagship receiver but still manages to offer a state of the art feature set and awesome performance for a real world price..." read more »

"Very good image quality on upconverted analog video sources; four HDMI inputs; onboard Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio decoding; Sirius-ready; automatic...Competing AV receivers sound better; no graphical user interface; annoying back-panel design; lousy remote....The only differences are slightly different cosmetics and the AVR-790 lacks IR inputs/outputs and the ability to drive "B" front speakers...Denon's latest midrange model, the AVR-790, is a standout..." read more »

"Like Waits’ song, “Step Right Up,” one could review Denon’s overachieving AVR-5308CI THX Ultra2–certified A/V receiver by stringing together a list of its operating, control, and configuration features...Fire up the AVR-5308CI, and you’ll get no sound from any source (at least the review sample didn’t produce any...While this is frustrating, it’s also a good thing, as anyone who has visited a household with an ineptly set-up A/V receiver will attest...Anyone who says DVD is “good enough” should not be believed..." read more »
