I went to a local store to view it compared to more expensive DLP’s and the picture quality was as good or better...This is a great value! The fan is loud! You only hear it when the TV is muted, so it's not that bad...That said, a DVD looks pretty good, though with this big of a screen, you are going to seem some noise/artifacts unless you are using BluRay/HD-DVD...
I recommend this TV if you can get a good deal on it but I wish I'd purchased the extended warranty...Standard Def looks really bad on it at my current 9ft viewing distance...Overall I haven't found a better deal at this size and 1080p for $1600...
I haven't had any trouble with the TV yet, so no bad news to report...Great TV overall! Huge screen, sleek/modern design, huge screen, 3 HDMI inputs, pretty good in tv speaker, not to heavy and did I mention the HUGE SCREEN...Not many inputs overall, back of unit get very warm, not many choices in the stand department, the 3D WoW sound effect over-rated...
